Chris Townsend

Chris Townsend was appointed Vice President of HR Transformation for ABM UK & Ireland in 2025, following his impactful tenure as Vice President of HR for ABM UK & Ireland. With over 30 years of HR leadership experience, including 28 years in the Facilities Services sector. Chris now leads a key transformation workstream focused on equipping ABM’s people to work more confidently and effectively. His role is central to aligning talent, learning, and organisational development strategies with ABM’s evolving business needs.

Chris joined ABM in 2019, bringing with him extensive HR operations experience across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East, where he supported workforces of over 50,000 employees in sectors including Aviation, Real Estate, Government, Healthcare, Logistics, and Manufacturing. Prior to this, he held senior HR leadership positions at Mitie and Renaissance Services.

Chris holds an MBA from Henley Management College and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (FCIPD). He is also an active mentor for aspiring HR professionals through the CIPD.
